YUM’s Partnership with Boeing: A Journey of Support, Collaboration, and Inspiration

Over the years, Boeing has been a steadfast supporter of YUM’s projects through their corporate social responsibility initiatives. This enduring partnership has not only brought about positive transformations, specifically in the area of education, but has also helped to strengthen our community ties.

Through Boeing's support, over 3,800 individuals including students, children, and teachers have directly benefited from various education projects. Since 2017, Boeing has supported YUM’s early childhood learning center, as well as the Community Library in Cipanas (West Java), benefiting close to 2,500 preschoolers, students, parents and teachers. Moreover, since 2020, Boeing has supported over 1,100 school children through the tutoring program so that they could keep learning despite the schools being closed and reduced the severity of the learning loss that occurred during the pandemic. Thanks to this particular project, YUM was able to cooperate with 13 local primary schools, working with 30 teachers who were not only able to support their students better, but also received teacher training and support during the challenging times of the pandemic.

Last year, some of YUM’s tutoring students were blessed to be given the opportunity to go to the Science Museum in Jakarta with several Boeing global employees during their employee engagement activity. The visit to the Science Museum made a lasting impact on the students who participated as they engaged in activities in the museum, trying the scientific experiment booths, as well as conducting science experiments together with Boeing global employees. M Alzam, one of the students who participated in the activity shared his thoughts with us: “The visit to the Science Museum was truly inspiring! We learned so much about science that day through many hands-on experiments. I’m grateful to be able to participate in this extraordinary experience.”

After so many years of collaboration, we finally had the pleasure to meet with our partners at the Boeing headquarters in Jakarta. This meeting provided an invaluable opportunity for both YUM and Boeing to discuss the ongoing projects, share insights from the impact of past and ongoing projects, as well as explore future avenues of collaboration. The meeting resulted in a deeper understanding of the shared goals and the impact that could be achieved together.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Boeing for their unwavering support over the years. The collaboration has not only provided crucial support for the projects, but has also been a powerful source of inspiration for YUM. We look forward to achieving a greater impact on the lives of those who need it the most.
