The YUM farm has been farming organically since 2009, and now produces many varieties of delicious eco-friendly vegetables.

We employ a mixture of organic techniques and permaculture practices that support sustainable outcomes. We use farming methods that work with nature to reduce impact on the environment and the local community.

Methods used on the YUM organic farm include:

  • Use of compost teas
  • Integrated pest management
  • Companion planting
  • Crop rotation
  • Non-hybrid seed saving
  • Animal husbandry

What is Organic Farming?

Organic farming systems work with nature to conserve the health of the natural environment and the people who live and work in it.

Organic production systems do not use chemical inputs. Instead, organic farming systems utilise natural methods and materials for production, fertilisation and pest management.

True organic farms do not use genetically modified crops.

Why organic?
